An operating system (OS) is the main system software that starts after the firmware. It connects the user and applications to the hardware and provides a stable environment for programs.
نظام التشغيل هو برنامج النظام الرئيسي الذي يبدأ بعد البرنامج الثابت، ويربط المستخدم والتطبيقات بالعتاد ويوفر بيئة مستقرة لتشغيل البرامج.
Desktop operating systems include Windows, macOS and desktop Linux. Mobile systems include Android and iOS. Server systems provide network services, while embedded and real-time systems control dedicated devices.

An ISO is an image containing the installation files. Copying the ISO onto a USB does not normally make it bootable; a media-creation tool must write the image and boot information correctly.

Download the official ISO or Media Creation Tool and insert the USB drive. Copy anything important from it because it will be erased.

At power-on, use the manufacturer's setup or one-time boot key, commonly Del, Esc, F2, F9, F10, F11 or F12. The exact key appears on screen or in the manual.

Identify the correct target disk by size and label. Deleting or formatting a partition destroys its data; never guess when several disks are shown.

Create or select the destination partition, continue, and do not switch off during file copying and restarts. Remove the USB when setup no longer needs it.
